Air stream makes the reed to vibrate with a big frequency and concurrently with this process it opens and closes the tunnel within the mouthpiece of the musical instrument. Two cane blades are compactly bonded one with another in double reed. While the air is being winded inside - it is vibrating, closing and opening the crack created by themselves. Musicians refer oboe and bassoon to these instruments. Clarinet was invented in Nuremberg in the end of the Middle Ages. Various musical styles use clarinet as a solo instrument. Different orchestras choose clarinet as a solo instrument during the concerts. Clarinet is usually the main musical instrument in jazz and folk music. It has a nice and gentle sound and presents wide opportunities to the artist. The XX century gave many tendencies to the growth of clarinet. The fundamental feature of clarinet is that it has a broad range of moods and emotions that an artist may express through it. So you can decide to buy used woodwinds. Such registers as bass tenor and alto are open for bassoon. Italians contrived bassoon in the Middle Ages. Performers use bassoon in symphony and wind orchestras but at times it is played as a soloist in ensembles. The music is often written in bass, tenor and rarely in treble clefs. Nowadays not many people play bassoon but connoisseurs do. So if you want to play this woodwind you may get used bassoon cheap and become a member of a symphonic or another kind of orchestra.
