Where Were Woodwinds Manufactured?
Anyone in the Internet may buy used woodwinds online. Woodwinds are the instruments where flute, oboe, clarinet and saxophone are included in. Wood was the only stuff of manufacturing for these instruments years ago and this is the motive to name them the woodwinds actually. Today such instruments are not produced this way anymore but the timber is still used as an element equally with other stuff. There are two sorts of woodwind instruments after the method of blowing: labial & lingual. The conception of playing on labials is in blowing the air into the transversal hole on the top of the instrument. Sharp brim of the opening separates the air flow. Owing to it the column of the air resonates within the pipe. Flute is related to labial woodwinds. There is a reed in the conformation of lingual woodwinds. The air stream flows through it. Clarinet and saxophone are related to lingual along with some types of uncommon instruments. On the top of a lingual instrument the reed is situated. It creates the vibration of the air flow in the tube. The reeds may be of two variants: single and double. A single reed is a little cane and its function is to shut aperture in the mouthpiece of the woodwind instrument and to make there a narrow slit. Air stream makes the reed to vibrate with a big frequency and concurrently with this process it opens and closes the tunnel within the mouthpiece of the musical instrument. Two cane blades are compactly bonded one with another in double reed. While the air is being winded inside - it is vibrating, closing and opening the crack created by themselves. Musicians refer oboe and bassoon to these instruments. (more…)
